About me

I grew up in Dortmund, a German city in the Ruhr area. Although I had a great childhood, I quickly realized that it had little to offer for me personally as a photographer: World war II has entirely destroyed the old town and industrialization has killed the whole cultural identity.

When I first came to Palermo, Sicily, I fell in love with it immediately. Even though the city has it's structural problems, it offers everything I have dreamed of for my photographic aspirations.

At first I travelled there frequently to document life and places but quickly it became clear that for all the projects that I had in mind, these little trips weren't enough and so I decided to move to Palermo definately.

So I’m finally living in Palermo and I'm able to work on all the projects I had dreamed of for so many years. Now I can take the right amount of time to get all the photos I already visualized in my head.
